Introduction

In this introduction, I wish to tell you about my medical training, experience, philosophy and approach to your care. I will include some personal details, my reasons for integrating nutritional and environmental medicine into my practice and what to expect when you come to visit me.

I recognize each patient as an individual with a unique set of personal circumstances- genetic, family history, environment and lifestyle- all contributing to their current health profile. My treatment programme is tailored to your individual and specific requirements.

An accurate and complete diagnosis is essential to my approach, so my first consultation takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. This incorporates a full medical history, including dietary and lifestyle factors; an appropriate family history and a comprehensive medical examination. I then order the necessary blood and other tests, and in subsequent consultations develop an action plan, which could include pharmaceuticals, nutritional supplements and important dietary adjustments.

Philosophy, Training & Experience

My objective is to work with you to achieve a treatment programme that gets the results you want.

I studied medicine at Monash University in Victoria and spent several years in postgraduate training in Melbourne. Over the past 30 years, I have devoted myself to studying and practising holistic therapies and lifestyles. In 1979, as part of my life education, I left general practice and lived for 11 years in a Yoga Ashram where I learned Yogic therapies, conducted Yoga and Meditation courses as well as Yoga Teacher Training Courses.

When I returned to General Practice, I undertook intensive training courses and attended numerous conferences and seminars in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine, both as a participant and lecturer. Subsequently, I incorporated this knowledge into my Holistic General Practice.

This enabled me to deal with a much wider range of both acute and long-term health problems (many of which are not properly understood or recognized by conventional medicine), using an integrated approach, as required by the individual patient.
